Our Mission
OhioLicenseCheck.com was built to solve a real problem: Ohio licensed professionals — nurses, doctors, engineers, pharmacists, accountants, and many others — sometimes let their licenses expire because the state does not send renewal reminders and manually checking the eLicense portal every few months is not realistic.
An expired professional license can mean fines, disciplinary action, loss of employment, and in some fields, criminal charges. Our goal is to ensure that never happens to anyone in Ohio by providing free, automated renewal alerts that give professionals plenty of time to act.

Our Data Source
Every record we show comes from the State of Ohio itself. We ingest Ohio's official licensure dataset published on data.ohio.gov — the same eLicense database behind the state's own lookup portal — and refresh it every day.
That means searches here return instantly and work reliably by name as well as by license number, across 2.5 million+ individual and business license records from all 24 Ohio agencies, boards, and commissions. We do not create, edit, or interpret license records — we make the state's public data easier to search and add the renewal reminders the state does not send.
How current is it? Ohio republishes this data daily, and we reload it several times a day, so results reflect the state's most recent publication rather than the last few minutes. For an official, point-in-time primary-source verification — hiring, credentialing, or legal use — confirm directly with the issuing board.
